Italy - The Land of Tourist Attractions

Italy is a country with many famous cities that you have undoubtedly heard of. Some of these include Rome, Florence, Venice and Tuscany among others. Italy is well known for having many natural parks, beaches, restaurants, and museums. It also has many traditions, a variety of culture, as well as fun and interesting places to go such as amusement parks, water parks, and zoos. This lovely country is a great place for tourists, as it has many outstanding and attractive points of interest. Italy is an ideal place for people who like quiet, less populated areas. Some of the interesting places and attractions that can be found in Italy are mentioned below.

Amalfi Coast

A lovely location that has many large mountains and a magnificent sea! In the past many people and fishermen came to this location to fish in this sea. Throughout the day this area has a very pleasant climate. It is nice enough that you can enjoy boating in this sea. In this area you will find many boutiques, ceramics shops and other store for shopping. The region has amazing views that include lofty locations where one can look out from high mountain peaks. Around this region the wind blows throughout the day. The water of this blue sea can become extremely chilly.

Leaning Tower of Pisa

The tower of Pisa is considered to be a superb work of art. The first floor of the tower is surrounded with pillars with classical ornaments. The tower was erected in 1178. The tower has 7 floors in total, and the structure of the tower is currently leaning to the right side. The towers total number of steps is 296. Surrounding the outer area of the tower grounds is a lush layer of green grass. Several replicas or mementos of the leaning tower of Pisa are bought by people in the memory of having visited this unique and famous building.

Colosseum and Palatine

The Palatine Hill is a very famous gravestone that attracts the attention of people of all ages. The Palatine Hill is located between the Roman Forum, the Velabrum, and Circus Maximus. It is one of the Seven Hills of Rome, and is thought to most likely be the site of the first settlements of the city.

Saint Peter’s Piazz

This is located in front of Peter’s Bascilla which is located in Vatican City. This will remind you of other the retro style historical places. The entire structure is made of a very interesting shade of red granite stone. Saint Peters Piazz stands at 25.5 meters tall.

The Pantheon

This is one of the best and most ancient temples found in Italy. This was built in 27 BC, and it was again reconstructed in 120 AD. Because of its magnificent dome, it is considered to be one the most important achievements of ancient Rome.

Trevi Fountain

Trevi fountain is the largest fountain in the world. This fountain is 85 feet tall and 65 feet wide. Situated in Rome, the fountain is located in the Rione of Trevi and it is said that if you throw coins in the fountain it will bring you luck. If you throw two coins in different places of the fountain you will visit Rome again, and if you throw three coins, it means you will get married soon. It has been calculated that more than three thousand euros have been thrown in the fountain.

Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari

This is in short simply known as Frari. It is one of the well known and familiar churches in Venice. This was built in the centre of the district, San Polo and is one of other Parish churches that can be found in Italy. The church is very clean, well designed and very elegant.

Saint Mark square

This square is one of the more photographed attractions in Italy, and is easily recognizable all over the world. This square is lively with pigeons, music, and people. It has a great atmosphere that anyone can enjoy. Locals and tourists alike can enjoy tasty corn and drinks from the variety of shops in the area.

Rialto Bridge

This Bridge is built over the Grand Canal. This bridge is very famous and one of the oldest bridges in the city. It bridge was built in 1181. On either side of bridge there are many shops where pedestrians can spend time looking for interesting things to remind them of their trip to Italy.

Naval History Museum

This museum has four floors. On the first floor, you will find expensive and stunning jewels as well as models of the shipbuilding trade. On the second floor you can find the charm of lagoon sea craft. The third floor is completely filled with silk panels, and Chinese artifacts, and on the last floor you will find old and very interesting Viking sea craft. You can find a wide variety of hotels and restaurants situated near the museum.

Accademia Bridge

This is a wooden bridge that was built over a canal in Venice. This bridge was actually built in 1932. There are number of shops near this bridge where collectors can find a variety of Vetian art, including, Cidmbono and Bellini.

Costa Smeralda

This is a coastal area in the north of Sardinia; this is 55 km which covers more than 30 km square. It has wonderful beaches which are ideal for tourists. This is one of the more luxurious and calm tourist destinations in Italy.

Santa Maria Della Salute

This is one of the more familiar churches in Italy, which is in short called as Salute. It is a very large building made of more than 100,000 pieces. This church is completely constructed with istrian stone, which makes this unique structure look catching and especially attractive.

San Giorgio Maggiore

A small island which is somewhat far from PIazzetta Sa Macro, in Venice. The island has a monastery, a church and a tall and very large bell tower. From this tower, visitors can enjoy a full view of Venice. This place is a cultural centre which has a very sophisticated open air theater. There are many paintings of Tntoretto inside the church, which are very simple and inspiring.
