PLACE TO GO IN ARMENIA

Visit (283 times)

In general, Yerevan is not a dangerous city. Burglary and theft are heard, especially targeting foreigners, the greatest care is essential. Use common sense when walking down the street at night, especially after drinking. There are well known scams operating in some ATMs, particularly those that accept VISA cards, issued with no money but the money is, however removed from the account.
Male visitors should be aware that unaccompanied women are an unusual sight in the dark. On the outskirts of the city, one woman walking alone at night can attract attention. these are the places where you can visit this site:

Armenia is an amazing Tourist Destination. Landlocked, it is neighboured by: Turkey in the West, Georgia in the North, Iran in the South and Azerbaijan in the Eastern part. The country is famous for its ancient and outstandingly rich cultural heritage. Here you will find both many natural attractions and plenty of historical landmarks within 29 thousand square kilometers which makes it such a popular tourist spot in this region.
Sightseeing in Armenia is a lot of fun and full of many adventures, discoveries and simply a cultural voyage. While sightseeing in Armenia, you will find volcanic peaks, hot springs, crystal lakes and so much more of the natural variety as well as the man made attractions.
There are ten essential places that Envoy recommends you to see while visiting our country.
*Ancient Pagan Temple of Garni from 71 AD and Medieval Geghard Monastery carved in one piece inside a mountain.
*Lake Sevan surrounded by Medieval Monasteries of Hayravank and Sevanavank.
*Noratus an old cemetery with more than 500 khachkars (cross-stones) dating back up to the 10th century.
*Khor Virap Monastery where the history of Armenian Christianity was started some 1700 years ago, nestled on the skirts of Mt Ararat.
*Noravank Monastery the only place in all of the historic Armenian Kingdom where you find God pictured on the wall of the church. Coming back from Noravank visit the winery of Areni and taste some delicious Armenian wines. We strongly recommend trying cherry and pomegranate wines.
*Haghpat and Sanahin Monasteries two masterpieces of Armenian Medieval Architecture.
*Spend some time in our cosmopolitan capital Yerevan and enjoy the nightlife of visiting restaurants, clubs and cafes and the markets in the daytime.
*While in Yerevan visit the National Gallery storing the largest collection of artifacts capturing the Armenian cultural heritage.
*Matenadaran the script museum in Yerevan where you can find an impressive collection of ancient manuscripts (make sure you have a "ponchik" a local doughnut from the nearby Grand Candy Café).
*And finally to add some feeling of being home during your trip in Armenia just visit Envoy and chill with us and join in on our event nights!
A recent guest of Envoy from Belgium' Joris de Bleser managed to visit almost all the places mentioned above and took some amazing photos during his trip. He has truly captured the essence of these places as well as a reflection of the Armenian culture. Enjoy these great shots with us
